## Statement

The officers involved in the arrest of Mr. Tyron McAlpin, a Black man who is deaf and has cerebral palsy, are Benjamin Harris and Kyle Sue from the Phoenix Police Department. They are under scrutiny due to body camera footage showing them using excessive force, including repeatedly punching and tasing McAlpin. The arrest has drawn widespread criticism from civil rights advocates, particularly because McAlpin’s disabilities were not considered, and the force used appears disproportionate.
