Description: On Saturday October 9th 2021, Officer McClave was driving to work on the Garden State  
Parkway in Tinton Falls, Monmouth County, when his vehicle left the elevated roadway and landed on a vehicle on the roadway below, killing the driver and passenger. The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office investigated the fatal accident and Officer McClave was subsequently charged by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office with two counts of vehicular homicide. Upon Hillside Police Department being notified of the charges, Officer McClave was immediately suspended without pay pending the outcome of a criminal trial. While suspended without pay and still awaiting trial, Officer McClave submitted a letter of resignation from his position of police officer with the Hillside Police Department effective August 8, 2023.
