## Statement

James Knief, a criminal investigator for an ongoing case for Marina Rios came to visit her without going through her public defender. He appears to be friends of the alleged victim in her case. No explanation for this is being given by her public defender even after she asked for a statement from Marina's sister regarding the incident. The public defender's investigator also appears to be friends with the alleged victim and is blaming her arrest for her being on the phone with me at the time. She is being charged with domestic violence against the father of her child but she has stated it was in self defense. Her public defender won't acknowledge the conflict of interest with the two witnesses even though one of them rents a room from the alleged victim and both witnesses are his friends and there are photos the witnesses and the alleged victim hanging out and bbqing together and is getting pressured into taking a plea instead of being represented properly.
