## Statement

K9 Bevo, who has a [facebook page](https://www.facebook.com/K9BEVO/ "K9 Bevo Facebook") dedicated to him...

was deemed a dangerous animal by a [Collin County](https://www.collincountytx.gov/Pages/default.aspx "Collin County, TX") Judge and is banned from the state of Texas for the remainder of the dog's life, after it got loose in an Allen, Texas neighborhood and bit a young child multiple times according to a report by Allen, TX Police.

The incident occurred about 5:30 p.m. on October 31, 2021 when the K9 got out of a fenced yard and was loose in a residential Allen, TX neighborhood. The child was hospitalized for at least five bite wounds to his calf and buttocks. Animal control officers seized Bevo, who was quarantined at a local veterinarian clinic.

A Collin County judge declared Bevo a dangerous animal and banned him from the state of Texas for life. After 10 days the judge allowed the dog to be returned after an Animal Control Officer conducted an inspection of the [McCurtain County Sheriff's Office](https://giglio-bradylist.com/oklahoma/mccurtain-county-sheriffs-office "McCurtain County Sheriff's Office") canine pen and facility.  
  
The sheriff, [Kevin Clardy](https://giglio-bradylist.com/individual/kevin-%20clardy "Kevin Clardy"), told local newspaper, [the McCurtain Gazette](https://mccurtaingazettenews.com/dog-used-by-sheriffs-office-banned-from-texas-after-attack/ "The McCurtain Gazette"), that because the dog is privately owned by [Deputy Wilkerson](https://giglio-bradylist.com/individual/ian-%20wilkerson "Deputy Ian Wilkerson") and not by the county, all the liability falls upon Wilkerson and that Bevo was “grounded” until the department decides what to do with him.
