The attorney made assertions contradicted by available records and, after being provided information correcting those assertions, continued to rely upon them or failed to issue an appropriate correction. The attorney also threatened legal action while declining to identify supporting evidence, a cognizable injury, or a legitimate basis for the threatened claims. This complaint does not ask the disciplinary authority to resolve the underlying civil dispute; it requests an investigation into whether the attorney’s conduct violated applicable professional duties concerning meritorious claims, truthfulness in statements to others, candor, honesty, and the prohibition against deceit or misrepresentation.
