## Statement

Jonathan Pierce filed a complaint alleging that the Bentley Police Department, under Chief James “Tim” Bryan, repeatedly failed to protect him despite multiple reports of threats, violence, and violations of a Protection From Abuse order by his ex-girlfriend. Pierce alleged that Chief Bryan falsely stated she had not been served with the protection order, despite court records showing otherwise, and that little action was taken even after evidence and witness statements were provided.
Pierce also alleged a broader pattern of unfair treatment by Bentley Police, claiming his reports of violence and threats were ignored while accusations against him were acted on quickly. He stated that he believed bias related to his prior drug history influenced how Chief Bryan and the department treated him.
