## Official Statement

Former HPD Officer Ashley Gonzalez was terminated after an internal investigation into social-media videos in which she allegedly made racist remarks about Black people, repeatedly used racial slurs, and stated that she had used her law-enforcement role to target African-Americans. HPD Chief J. Noe Diaz Jr. described the conduct as “abhorrent, disgusting, and entirely unacceptable.”
