## Official Statement

Officer Richard Hy of the Buffalo Police Department was suspended without pay for violations of departmental policy related to his use of social media. While in uniform and on official premises, Officer Hy published a series of videos under the alias “Angry Cops,” which satirized aspects of police work and department operations. These videos were produced without proper authorization and in contravention of departmental guidelines intended to preserve the integrity and neutrality of law enforcement communications.
