On 12/05/2017, former [OKCPD](https://giglio-bradylist.com/oklahoma/oklahoma-city-police-department) officer, Keith Patrick Sweeney was charged with 2nd Degree Murder for the shooting death of Dustin Pigeon in November of 2017. Sweeney was convicted of the crime on 12/18/2019 and sentenced to 10 years in prison. During the trial, Sgt. Erik Howell testified that Pigeon didn't have a gun or a knife. "I did not observe any threatening acts," Howell said.

District Attorney [David Prater](https://giglio-bradylist.com/individual/david-%20prater) was the prosecutor on the case.
