Corbett acting as LASD division chief, provided false statements to the press and public. He lied about aggressive actions by a victim in the LA county jail. He claimed the victim pulled his arm away from his deputy and attempt to strike back to assault the deputy. He also claimed the victim pulled the deputy to the floor, injuring him. The victim was handcuffed in front, and at no time does he reach to pull the deputy. Furthermore, Corbett claimed the video evidence is wrong and the officers statements are accurate even if they contradict the obvious facts and evidence.
