The stop resulted in excessive for by OHP Officer Preston Cox. He admits in an interview to grabbing the back of Kemp's neck, kneeing her in the face 4 times, and elbowing her in the face. The face is considered a "red zone" in proper use of force training, meaning that the face is "off limits". Kemp's family told media of extensive injuries she endured, including but not limited to, ribs 2-8 being broken, a broken nose, and bruising all over Kemp's body.
